This week, I have been getting calls from clients telling me how ‘hard’ it is this time of year to stick to their healthy eating habits and healthier lifestyle all together. Work with me. I will keep you on track now and thru the holidays into 2019. Make it your best year yet. I’d like to reference back to my Normal article. It’s doesn’t have to be hard during the holidays to stay true to your healthier lifestyle. It is your norm, remember? Focus on what clean, whole food eating has done for you:
- skyrocketing energy
- radiant skin
- mental clarity
- crazy focus
- a feeling of being able to do it all
- better fitting clothes.
I’m not saying not to indulge. Because as we all know deprivation doesn’t work. So pick that one treat that you love, that reminds you of the holidays and go for it. Sit down and savour it. Once you have, you are good. You can now skip the nut bowl, the chips, the passed fried appetizers, the other desserts and concentrate on your health. People ask me all the time how I am not tempted to eat ‘junk’ foods. It’s simple for me especially this time of year. I am so used to seeing these same party circuit foods filled with fat, preservatives, chemicals, sugar and who knows what else that it all just becomes a big blur and really it grosses me out. None of it does anything for me. So after I sip my big vice and indulge in a Xmas eves glass of Bailey’s (gasp), I am good. I don’t need anything else. Really it is that black and white for me. And it can be for you too. This mindset is attainable. Just focus on clean eating and how good it makes you feel. You won’t look at food the same. Hit the veggies with gratitude and enjoy the festive season fully without worry.
